Your Appointment, was indeed, late incoming, yet held at time when, the Juices of the Berries were most potent! Such a Beautiful album, I' gonna get me hands on the Vinyl as well! I have been a long time Waterboys fan but mainly around the Room to roam and Fisherman's blues era. Saw you in Glasgow last December and was totally blown away I had no idea how good they would be live, then they announced the concert at the Bandstand in Glasgow, I just had to go and take my wife. Again a first for her, she was totally amazed by the performance we had such a wonderful time the musicianship was unbelievable. I am now reading Mikes book and buying everything from the back catalogue. What a talent Mike is a real Scottish living legend, who has brought joy to me and many others thank you for your gift to the world!!

Love..Love...LOVED the Kelvingrove gig, I feel blessed to have seen the band over the years, The first time being back in 1984 supporting U2 at the Barrowlands. The music, the lyrics, the passion, the sheer beauty of the writing in general, It may have rained like Noah was about to sail down the River Kelvin the night of the gig but it did not dampen the spirits of the crowd, what a night, what a show, what a band!

One more wee thing...Is there anyway you can post the Kelvingrove setlist on here?

Thanks for the music you bring into the world Mr Scott :)

I'm a long time fan and have seen you many times over the years in the UK and Ireland. What a great set at Greenman and there was such a buzz after your show especially from people who hadn't seen you live before which was really great!

Try to get to west michigan to play. It would be great to get to a show. I have been a long time fan, and an avid listener of WYCE That is a listener powered non commercial radio station. The. Waterborne fit in there very well. Thanks for the music/songs. TW

I went to the York gig and thought it was patchy after a great start featuring Strange Boat, Fisherman's Blues and A Girl Called Johnny.. Mike somehow seemed a little detached (or was he supremely relaxed?). As for the version of The Whole Of The Moon, I can only agree with the previous post: what's wrong with reinventing a song after three decades or so? The York version was nicely jaunty. Overall, though, the Oxford concert in December was much better.
Now I'm no expert on concert etiquette but the York gig wasn't helped as an experience by the constant stream of people walking in and out throughout. Why this discourtesy to the band? I'm glad I wasn't sitting in the middle rows, having to get up at regular intervals - often mid-song - to let people in and out.

I went to the York gig and thought it was brilliant. The band are all incredibly good musicians and Paul Brown a great addition. The sheer energy of the show was staggering and if anything, the band get better. I have seen them countless times over the years and to my mind, changing the way a song is played, re-inventing it, keeps it fresh. Long may it continue !!

Great gig last night, despite the rain and the Kelvingrove Bandstand is a great venue.
What was the music played at the end of the gig?

Webteam writes:

Hi Patrick,

The music after the gig was Theme from Once Upon A Time In The West by Ennio Morricone, followed by Each Little Thing by Sharon Shannon.

Incredibly excited for the gig tonight at the Bandstand Kelvingrove. I just arrived home from Ethiopia having worked there for 6 months volunteering in a hospital in a rural area. I bought the tickets whilst away for my boyfriend who is a massive fan, and who used to send me links to your songs whilst I was away. I know it's popular, but 'how long will I love you' was the song we had a dance to when he came all the way over to Ethiopia to propose (unexpectedly). If we get to hear it tonight it would mean the world. Looking forward to a great night. Thank you x

Hi..Saw the 'Boys in York last night and I have to say it was the most powerful, driven, rapturous triumph I have ever seen...a 15 minute version of The Pan Within featuring keyboards and violin like thunder, Mad as The Mist and Snow literally as mad as mist and snow, featuring a heartstopping mix of musicality, poetry and emotion, Magnificent musical invention and re-invention. Go see The Waterboys every chance you get....

Saw Waterboys in York last night and was mesmerized by Paul Brown, keyboard player. Absolutely amazing talent, and his energy kept me smiling all night. Don't care if he looks like a hippy muppet, he's a true star in every sense of the word. Keep on rockin the white suit, Paul.

Great gig in York last night, fantastic playlist but have to agree with the previous post, ditch the masks, the indulgent solos and the Bill Bailey lookalike on keyboards! Steve was in great form and Mike is as bang on as ever! Good old Edinburgh boy! BehnLgKeep up the good work and when can we see you in Norwich?

Webteam writes:

Hi Ian,

No news of Norwich presently, but as always, we'll announce any upcoming shows on this site once they are confirmed.

That 'Bill Bailey lookalike' on keyboards is the gifted Paul Brown, who has a list of musical accolades as long as your arm.

Love,
Paige

Hi saw the band on Scunthorpe last night really good except a terrible version of" whole of the moon" they sang as if they hated it not good enough for your fans
And didn't understand the wired section where they wore masks
Otherwise brilliant
Oh and key board player lolls like a hippy who is on the muppets

Thanks
Malcolm
